Methodology
Platformable’s data analyst team regularly analyzes the AI industry and identifies new and emerging tools to include.

Taxonomy
The AI industry taxonomy was created in 2025 to reflect current and expected growth across the AI industry. It was created by Mehdi Medjoaui (apidays) and Mark Boyd (Platformable).

The model draws on an understanding of software design lifecycle, AI lifecycle, and open digital ecosystem models to identify all AI-related components that are typically accessed and used as value is generated by developers with a specific focus on API developer needs.

Technical Deployment
The AI Landscape tool was designed by Rebeca Vittorazo and built by Alexei Garban and is maintained by Platformable. It is based on a dataset currently stored in SQL using Nocodb, and integrated via N8N to a Netlify frontend single page app, with the backend hosted on Digital Ocean.
